A new running back coach?

Rivals.com is reporting today that the Huskies have found a new running backs coach — Joel Thomas, who has been the RB coach at Purdue the last three seasons.
The report initiated from the Rivals.com Purdue site which learned that Thomas was leaving.
Here is Thomas’ bio, and as you can see, he has ties to the UW staff having served as co-offensive coordinator at Idaho for two years under Nick Holt.
Thomas also has ties to the area, having attended high school in Port Angeles and later playing at Idaho under Chris Tormey.
There’s no official confirmation of this from UW yet (UPDATE 6:30 P.M. — But an announcement sounds like just a formality as an independent source has also confirmed it since the initial report.)
As mentioned earlier, UW also appears close to announcing two other hires on the defensive side — Mike Cox and Jeff Mills.
Both Mills and Cox have previously worked at Idaho, as has new DL coach Johnny Nansen and obviously Holt, so there will be a heavy former-Vandal tint to this staff.
Assuming all the hires come in soon, UW will have two more openings remaining, each on the offensive side of the ball — receivers, tight ends and quarterbacks are the positions still vacant (and obviously one of those positions will be doubled up in some manner).
