USC staying strong

In what ranks as a fairly big upset — and will peg USC as an even bigger favorite to win the Pac-10 next year — safety Taylor Mays is apparently returning to school for his senior season.
A report in today’s Los Angeles Daily News also says that tailback C.J. Gable and cornerback Josh Pinkard will be back.
The Trojans will be the first Pac-10 opponent for former USC assistants Steve Sarkisian and Nick Holt in their new Husky roles, coming to Seattle next Sept. 19.
