Wednesday morning notes

A few quick notes to pass along on what remains a foggy morning in Seattle. …
— interesting column from the Salt Lake Tribune today on Utah’s inability to keep assistant coaches despite an incredible 2008 season. Included are some comments from Aaron Roderick on why he left for Washington (Roderick wasn’t made available to local media yesterday since all the coaches are on the road recruiting but the Trib got a hold of him).
— A helpful reader passed along these notes from Senior Bowl practice. There aren’t any Huskies in the game, but peel down to the end and you’ll see a couple of players who once were committed or signed with UW — Ashlee Palmer and Coye Francies. Palmer signed as part of the Class of 2006 but never did get eligible. Francies was committed for quite a while to sign in 2006 before changing his mind and signing at Oregon State, then after playing for the Beavers, he was booted from the team and ended up at San Jose State.
—- Illinois State has officially announced the hiring of Luke Huard as quarterbacks coach.
— A brief note on UW’s latest commit, Kimo Makaula, from the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. And here’s some video of Makula.
Ken Goe has his daily selection of Pac-10 links leading off with Oregon being picked in the top 10 in a couple of really early 2009 pre-season rankings.
I’ll try to be back with a few more Q-and-A’s later.
