Recruiting update

So the rumors are correct that UW did have a surprise visitor this weekend — DT Myles Wade of Portland, who had been reported to have given a commitment last week to Texas Tech.
Wade told Scout.com that he still considers himself committed to Tech, but that he wants to explore all of his options. So he took a quick visit to UW that ended Friday. Wade also said he still expects to have an in-home visit from Nebraska next week before making his final decision on LOI Day Wednesday.
“I just want to be able to say to myself that I know I did it the right way,” he told Scout.com of why he was continuing to explore options after having given a commitment to Texas Tech.
The consensus of the number of visitors for this week, then, is seven — six of whom are JC transfers, including Wade. The general feeling is that it won’t be a surprise if UW gets commitments from a couple of them, and UW will continue to work on some of the players who took visits in previous weekendds.
At the moment, UW has 14 reported commitments. But one, cornerback Kenneth Pinkard of Dallas, Texas, never took an official visit to Washington leading to speculation he could end up elsewhere. If so, that could leave UW with just three recruits who committed to the previous staff — QB Keith Price, safety Nathan Fellner and LB Andru Pulu.
