Tuesday a.m. links

Not a ton out there, but a couple of interesting items. …
— For starters, ESPN.com’s Ted Miller passes along this story from the Arizona Republic that even the school’s coaches are getting furloughed, including football coach Dennis Erickson, who will lose $20,800 salary as the school tries to save money. We’ll really know something is wrong when they start doing this to pro athletes.
— Miller also has this look at Pac-10 defensive lines. That will be one of the more interesting areas of roster to watch for UW this spring with all of the young players there and talk of position changes, with some DLs possibly headed to offense. One part of the depth chart to definitely write in pencil. (And to be fair to Miller, this is just a look at defensive tackles and not the entire defensive line).
Nick Daschel’s five things to watch list includes a rumination on the importance of the Idaho game for the Huskies. I also agree with Daschel on his second point that it would be nice if everyone ended the season with their rivalry game. But the tradeoff would likely be playing the Apple Cup in December. Which is worse?
— The usual assortment of Pac-10 links from The Oregonian.
All for now.
