A few more Pro Day notes

As the headline says. …
— Here’s the story on Pro Day today focusing on Johnny DuRocher’s attempt to return to the field. He was there today just to throw, in part helping out the receivers who needed to show off their catching ability. DuRocher hopes to be fully healthy in a few months and then make a real run at returning to football.
— A number of current and former Huskies were there, and among the latter group were Roy Lewis and Joe Lobendahn, lending support for their former teammates. Also there was cornerback Byron Davenport, who said he will finish up school this month then head back to L.A. to begin training for his sixth season of play at Delta State, a D-II school in Mississippi. He wasn’t going to be able to get a sixth year at UW for this season.
— Among current players there was DE Daniel Te’o-Nesheim. I talked to him for a little while about a few different things. Te’o-Nesheim said that unfortunately, he was sick for a while recently and lost some weight and is currently at 250 pounds. He was listed at 260 last year and said he hopes to be more than that by the time next season starts.
— Also there were a few of the current O-lineman and while I didn’t have the chance to speak to any of them, a quick eye test indicates that the reports that they are getting slimmer are on the mark. A couple I got a close look at definitely looked a little thinner.
Seth Kolloen of Sports Northwest Magazine has an interesting note on former UW QB Brock Huard wishing he hadn’t given up pitching. As reported here a few weeks ago, Huard is about to start a new gig as a host on the new 710-AM ESPN sports station that will debut April 1.
All for now.
