Husky Stadium bill gets a hearing

As expected, the Senate Ways and Means Committee heard some testimony today on a bill that could help fund a renovation of Husky Stadium.
Here’s a link with info from Northwest Cable News that frankly doesn’t make it sound as if there is a lot of support for it right now.
As the story notes, however, Committee Chairwoman Margarita Prentice appeared to leave the door open for further discussion saying that Husky Stadium “is a lawsuit waiting to happen” which seems to be a reference to the safety issues that UW officials have said is a major reason for the renovation.
Unclear what happens next but I’ll try to get some info on this tomorrow and pass it on.
