The Top 10 Huskies — Your Vote

Okay, I’ve spent the morning tabulating your votes, even calling in Katharine Harris to make sure I was counting them correctly — my wife wondered who that strange woman was hovering over me.
Anyway, the results are in and 41 Huskies received votes, including one coach and two guys who don’t have eligibility anymore — but hey, who am I to judge? I counted most of the votes but our crack oversight crew here threw out a few for, uh, integrity’s sake.
Ultimately, there were 43 ballots counted with players given points on a 10-1 basis, meaning 10 points for a first-place vote, nine for second, etc.
Only one player was mentioned on every single ballot — QB Jake Locker — who made like USC in this poll and got 39 of the 43 first-place votes. DE Daniel Te’o-Nesheim received the other four.
Also, I didn’t necessarily spell out real clearly what the parameters were and some voted simply for a position, so I didn’t count those since I didn’t know who to give them to. The initial point was to rate the 10 best players heading into the spring, a blatant ripoff of a top 30 list ESPN’s Ted Miller is doing for the entire Pac-10. Should we do something like this again I’ll try make sure everyone understands what we’re voting for (unlike is the case, say, with most initiatives in this state).
Without further ado, then, here are the results
1, QB Jake Locker, 426 — He got 39 first-place votes and four second-place votes.
2, DE Daniel Teo’-Nesheim, 354 — Not mentioned on one ballot.
3, WR D’Andre Goodwin, 262 — Got two second-place votes.
4, LB E.J. Savannah, 212 — First change from my list. Got two second-place votes
5, LB Mason Foster, 181 — Got seven third-place votes.
6, TE Kavario Middleton, 153 — Received two third-place votes.
7, LB Donald Butler, 140 — First player on your top 10 not in my top 10.
8, OG Ryan Tolar, 77 — Got a couple of fourth-place votes.
9 , LT Ben Ossai, 66 — Got one second-place vote.
10, RB Chris Polk, 57 — Fans still hold out high hopes despite struggles of last season. Received one third-place vote.
