Catching up on some old names edition. …
— The beginning of spring ball also means some of the coaches on UW’s staff a year ago are starting their new jobs. Here’s a report on Chris Tormey starting his new gig as the special teams coordinator at Hawaii (which will bring him back to Seattle for a game against the Cougars this year at Qwest Field).
— Here’s another on J.D. Williams starting to settle in as the new secondary coach at Utah.
— And here’s one on Randy Hart taking over as the DL coach at Notre Dame noting that he has brought a more up-tempo approach to practices, something that sounds a little familiar. Tyrone Willingham, however, remains on the sidelines, having moved back to the Bay Area but with no new coaching job lined up yet.
— The Oregonian has its daily look at the Pac-10 leading off with the news of Mike Bellotti’s temporary job this spring working as the school’s quarterbacks coach while a permanent one is found.
— Remember Robin Pflugrad, the fired Oregon coach who some thought might end up at UW? He’s volunteering this spring at Montana.
— Eastern Washington released its official spring roster this week and it includes the two WRs, Aaron Boyce and Brynsen Brown, about whom there had been rumors of possibly transferring to UW.
All for now.
