Tracking the commits

After the commitments of the past two days, the Huskies can finally crow that they lead the Pac-10 in something — other than all those things the last couple years they didn’t want to lead in.
Here are the number of commits per school to date for the Class of 2010, according to
Washington — 7
Stanford — 5
USC — 3
UCLA — 2
Oregon — 2
Arizona State — 2
Washington State — 2
Cal — 1
Oregon State — 0
Arizona — 0
Not sure it means anything other than that the Huskies are off to a nice start — it’s so early in the process that not having any or many really isn’t newsworthy. But considering that UW didn’t have its first commit last year until late July it’s a sign of the difference in having a perceived lameduck of a coach and a new one who is being aggressive and eliciting some excitement.
— Also, Eastern Washington opened spring practice today and all players were present and accounted for, including the two WRs rumored at one point possibly considering transferring to UW. Here’s a report from The Spokesman-Review.
