A big visitor, and a few other early practice notes

If you’re headed out to UW’s practice today and see a familiar figure walking the sidelines, yes that is indeed former Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren.
The “Big Show” is taking in practice today accompanied by Matt Peterson, who is not only UW’s football program coordinator for recruiting but also Holmgren’s son-in-law (he’s also a former Seattle Times sports writer, which is steadily slipping down his list of titles).
As the UW offense ran through plays in the pre-practice session, the No. 1 unit featured a couple new looks. The right guard was Morgan Rosborough, who for the moment has apparently supplanted Senio Kelemete, who ran with the twos.
Also, the running back was Curtis Shaw, for the moment appearing ahead of a tight race at tailback (however, Brandon Johnson is not in full pads, apparently nursing an injury, and Chris Polk was not visible on the field. He also has been nursing an ankle injury and may have been getting treatement).
Kavario Middleton ran as the first team tight end with the rest of the unit looking the same as it has.
I didn’t get a good look at the defense (which goes through its early walk-through on the other field) though the front seven looked the same.
Among the recruits at practice is Bellevue High lineman Julious Moore.
It’s a little windy, but thankfully not wet, and the crowd so far not overly big.
