Apple Cup at Qwest Field? UPDATED

News is breaking tonight that the Apple Cup could be moved to Qwest Field on an annual basis beginning in 2010.
Here’s our Here’s our story, and here’s a story from the Spokesman-Review.
A UW spokesman told us tonight that this is all still in the preliminary stages and is among several things the two schools are talking about to maximize financial opportunities and exposure.
The Spokesman-Review reported that the deal could be worth $2 million for each school each year compared to $800,000 apiece when the teams play at Husky Stadium and some $240,000 when they meet in Pullman. The money would come via First & Goal, which operates Qwest Field.
With the current financial difficulties facing higher education in the state right now the money would be especially enticing.
