Spring game story posted — more from Tui

My story for tomorrow’s paper on today’s spring game has been posted.
Here it is.
If you read it, you’ll see I spoke with Marques Tuiasosopo, who was in attendance with his wife, five-month old baby boy, and most of the rest of his family to watch the game. He also spoke to the team today before hand.
Tuiasosopo said the reunion weekend with former players — who met for a private function last night and then a tailgate before the game today — “was great.”
Tuiasosopo rattled off the names of guys he saw, such as Joe Steele, Rick Redman, Steve Emtman, Dave and Steve Hoffman, Kyle Benn, Chad Ward, Willie Hurst, Pat Conniff and Tahj Bomar.
“It was awesome,” he said. “The buzz in the room was great. Everyone’s talking about their Husky experience and talking about other guys from other eras. It was a lot of fun and you could tell guys were excited.”
Asked about speaking to the team, Tuiasosopo said that as he spoke “everyone came out of their seats and jumped in the air. It was a new thing for me but I think Steve felt that’s best for the team.”
Tuiasosopo is an unsigned free agent at the moment, not sure yet what the future holds.
“I didn’t sign until May 26 last year so if I don’t sign by then then I might start worrying about it and looking into doing something else,” he said. “Hopefully I’ll be able to jump on somewhere.”
