SB 6116 update

I caution that there’s a reason I’m a sportswriter — I don’ t know how to do much else, including read legalese.
But if I’m interpreting the updates on SB 6116 tonight correctly, it looks like there have been a couple of amendments added, which might be good news for Sonics fans, but not for UW fans.
Sen. Ed Murray added an amendment tonight that says that “all other provisions of the bill are removed” and instead focuses entirely on the Sonics and KeyArena.
Here’s a link to the relevant paragraph on the effect of the amendment.
So again, if I’m reading this correctly, it looks as if there is an attempt to pass this bill as a Sonics’ bill only, which obviously might make it easier to get through given the controversy regarding the Husky Stadium aspect of this.
If you’re living in Washington, you can watch the proceedings live on TVW (Channel 23 on Comcast in the Seattle area).
