Pac-10 APR numbers

Here are the APR scores for the entire Pac-10 for football and men’s basketball:
FOOTBALL
Stanford 984
Cal 970
USC 956
Washington 954
UCLA 948
Arizona State 945
Oregon 935
Oregon State 930
Arizona 924
Washington State 918
BASKETBALL
Oregon 975
UCLA 968
Stanford 968
Washington 956
Arizona 949
Washington State 946
Cal 944
Oregon State 936
Arizona State 930
USC 906
Both the WSU football program and USC basketball are below the presumptive 925 needed to escape penalties — a score that roughly equates to a 60 percent graduation rate. But both were spared this year due to showing significant improvement from a year ago — the scores are a four-year average. Each was docked scholarships last year for low scores — WSU lost eight football scholarships due to a score of 874 and USC two basketball scholarships due to a score of 863.
No Pac-10 school was penalized in any sport this year.
The national average for Football Bowl Subdivision teams was 941, so five Pac-10 teams were above it and five below. The average for D-I basketball is 933, so eight Pac-10 schools were ahead of that.
As I write this, the biggest question I have is whether Carlos Silva’s ERA may soon be higher than any of these scores.
