Saturday night links

We’ll cap off one of the nicest Seattle days of the year with a little nighttime reading. …
—- Times columnist Bud Withers has some more details on the possible cost-cutting measures that may be taken by the Pac-10, including some comments from Scott Woodward. Withers also writes that football travel squads could be cut from the current 64 for conference games.
Nick Daschel of Buster Sports writes that E.J. Savannah is one player Pac-10 fans “won’t want to miss in 2009” noting that he could not only help UW on the field this season but also help make it clear how different Steve Sarkisian is from Tyrone Willingham, who banished Savannah in a cloak of mystery last season.
— Here are some way-too-early bowl projections from CollegeFootballNews.com. The Huskies aren’t included. Pac-10 teams that are projected for bowls are Arizona State, UCLA, Oregon State, Oregon, Cal and USC. In fact, CFN.com sees USC playing Florida for the national title.
All for now.
