The Quad rates UW No. 99

The countdown of all 120 college football teams in the country by The Quad, the college sports blog of The New York Times, stopped at Washington today, ranking the Huskies at No. 99.
If that seems low, the prediction is a little more optimistic, calling for a 4-8 record overall, 3-6 in Pac-10 play, saying that the Huskies could take a couple of Pac-10 games they won’t be expected to win. It’s an exhaustive and well-researched preview and while the hard-cores may not find much new, it’s a really good overview overall.
I’ll continue to link these for all of UW’s opponents as they arrive.
(And yes, I noticed the little plug near the bottom. I don’t know the author, but thanks).
