A lot more on Nick Montana, and a little bit on other stuff, as well. …
Tom Luginbill, the Scouts Inc., recruiting analyst who said last week Jake Heaps was a perfect fit or BYU writes today that Montana is a perfect fit for the Huskies. The link includes some video of Montana. Luginbill writes that Montana needs to get in the weight room and is not as physically developed as the guys Steve Sarkisian was used to getting at USC — I’ve seen Montana listed as high as 195 and low as 185. He also writes, however, that Montana’s intangibles will make up for what he may be lacking now physically. He also makes the point that this isn’t a really deep year for QBs so getting one of the top ones now is a coup.
Greg Biggins of ESPN.com also has this on Montana’s commitment in which Montana says again he hadn’t expected to commit this early but that the visit last weekend made up his mind quickly.
— KCPQ has this interview with LA Times writer Eric Sondheimer, who had the news first on his blog last night. Sonheimer also offers a bit of a scouting report on Montana.
— Dr. Saturday offers this assessment of the Montana commitment.
— Dawgman.com has this pay story that notes that Montana is a “popular kid” on a team that has a lot of other D-I prospects, some of whom are considering UW, and that that could help the Huskies’ chances.
— Here’s the story from Rivals.com.
Ted Miller ranks the non-conference schedules in the Pac-10 and has UW third.
All for now.
