A couple of interesting things out there today. …
— The LA Times has a really informative interview with outgoing Pac-10 commissioner Tom Hansen in which he addresses a number of the areas many of you have asked about — why the USC investigation is taking so long, why the Pac-10 has the TV and bowl deals it does, and why the conference has been steadfast against a playoff.
— Also, the Kitsap Sun has this story today on Don James appearing at the Detlef Schrempf golf tournament on Monday. James thinks UW might be an underdog in only “six or seven” games next year and that Jake Locker won’t run as much. I still only see two games I think for sure UW will be favored — Idaho and WSU. But so much can change that a case can obviously be made that by the time kickoff rolls around UW could be favored at home against Arizona and maybe at ASU, OSU or UCLA (still think a lot would have to happen to be favored in any of the other home games, even against Oregon and Cal, but college football is a sport where an awful lot can happen — mainly injuries). Also, interesting note at the bottom that Rick Neuheisel helped convince Schrempf’s son, Alex, to walk-on at UCLA.
All for now.
