And we begin with some rather damning statements on UW’s previous coaching staff. …
— Those come from this story in the Vancouver Sun last week on former Husky Caesar Rayford, who is now contending for a starting job with the B.C. Lions. The money quote from Lions coach Wally Buono who says that “it amazes me they couldn’t develop a player of his natural ability with the facilities they have there. Further down in the story, though, Rayford takes some of the blame himself admitting that he wasn’t always as focused as he could have been during his time at UW. Whatever the case, such comments coming from either side shouldn’t surprise anyone given the record the Huskies have had of late.
— Speaking of the CFL, Cody Pickett remains on the roster of the Toronto Argonauts. Here’s a season preview of that team.
Jon Wilner presents a “best-of” list for the Pac-10 heading into the season.
— Scout.com has this preview of the Idaho Vandals, UW’s second opponent in 2009.
All for now.
