DuRocher returning to play at Central Washington

Dawgman.com is reporting tonight that former UW QB Johnny DuRocher will play this fall at Central Washington, a Division-II school in Ellensburg.
We reported in the Times last March how DuRocher had been cleared to return to football and was seeking again to play that sport in some capacity. He spent the spring training with IMG Performance Institute. But after apparently finding pro opportunities scarce, DuRocher looked into what his college options were and it was determined he would have a year left at the D-II level.
Dawgman.com reported that DuRocher will move to Ellensburg this month to begin working out in preparation for the season at CWU. Since DuRocher had just two seasons of actual playing at the D-I level, he still has eligibility left at lower levels (this helps explain some of the differences). He wouldn’t still be eligible at UW or any other D-I school.
He began his college career at Oregon in 2003 when he redshirted. He then sat out the 2004 season after deciding to transfer and played at UW in 2005 and 2006 before it was determined he was suffering from a brain tumor late in the 2006 season.
Central is the same school where former UW RB J.R. Hasty played last season. CWU will have a new starting QB this year as last year’s starter, Mike Reilly, has graduated.
