July answers, volume nine

Another round, including finally answering the question of which former Huskies have their pictures in the team room.
Q: So, which former Huskies have their pictures in the team room, anyway?
A: In no particular order, they are Marques Tuiasosopo, Warren Moon, Olin Kreutz, Steve Emtman, Lawyer Milloy, Corey Dillon, Napoleon Kaufman, Lincoln Kennedy, Dave Hoffmann and D’Marco Farr. By the way, speaking of Farr, during some of my down time in this knee rehab I watched a bunch of those America’s Game profiles of all the Super Bowl winners on the NFL Network. I highly recommend them. Farr is one of the three players used to tell the story of the 1999 Rams and he has a lot of interesting stuff to say, including noting that when he heard Dick Vermeil would be the new Rams coach all he could remember is that Vermeil had been the analyst for a UW game during Farr’s college days and said that he thought Farr was too small to play in the NFL. Happily enough for both of them, Farr proved Vermeil wrong.
Q: Will there be any changes to the gameday experience with a new coaching staff in charge?
A: Official word is that there will be, but that there are no details yet to pass along of exactly what will change as everything is still in the planning stages. If/when I get details on that I will pass it along on the blog.
Q: Will there be any impact to tailgating and parking this year due to the SoundTransit construction on Montlake Blvd.?
A: Again, the official word is that there will be a significant impact on all of that beginning with the 2010 season but that there will be minimal impact this season. Here are the details on what is being done, and you’ll note that it’s not scheduled to open until 2016. A UW spokesman said that for this season, the impacts are minor, such as having to move a few things around like some concession facilities and ticket booths. But the big impacts, the school says, won’t come until 2010. The school says details on exactly what will be impacted and what will be available as alternatives for parking and tailgating will be announced closer to the 2010 season.
All for now.
