Arrival at UW

I have arrived at UW to some of the familiar sights and sounds of football season — players walking through the hallways with their playbooks heading to and from meetings, an overcast day that feels like fall.
I had planned to stop by the stadium to shoot a few pictures of the freshly painted field for those who have asked what it looks like. But in a rookie mistake, I forgot one of the cords I need to make all the equipment work. We’re sending out a real photographer for practice later so I’ll make sure to link to those photos. But for now, sorry, the debut of live photos on the blog will wait another day.
In the meantime, here’s a story from ESPN.com about Joshua Shaw, a defensive back from Palmdale (Calif.) High — where I actually covered a bunch of games way back when — who is high on UW’s radar. But he is also high on the radar of a lot of schools and he talks in the story about how Ohio State has become his favorite. He has been reportedly planning an unofficial visit to UW for the LSU game.
Also, Nick Montana is included in this ESPN overview of the top QB prospects for the Class of 2010.
