Early practice update

The first practice of the year in full pads has begun, under vercast and potentially threatening skies.
Here’s how it looked as practice got started (that’s the quarterbacks doing some early work):

As for personnel news.
— DE Darrion Jones and S Nate Williams appeared to be back at full go after missing some of practice Thursday — Jones with a hand injury, Williams knee.
— However, apparently out were CB Justin Glenn (hip) and FB Paul Homer (hamstring). Glenn was in full uniform but Homer was not and is obviously not going to do any full-contact work.
— With Glenn out, Adam Long worked as the other starting corner in the early going alongside Quinton Richardson. That’s a spot that JC transfer Dominique Gaisie could have potentially been in contention for had he made it to school. But he will not be eligible — for what it’s worth, he is not listed on the rosters being handed out today after having remained on the roster earlier in the week.
— With Homer out, Austin Sylvester is running as the No. 1 fullback.
— The loss of Gaisie puts UW at 80 scholarship players right now, though only 78 in camp with Vince Taylor and Brandon Yakaboski out for camp with injuries.
More after practice.
