Quick post-practice update

Back from practice, which ended relatively early tonight — around 5 p.m. or so — as coach Steve Sarkisian said he wants to keep his team as fresh as possible heading into the opener. So this was one of the team’s lighter days of late, with a helmets and shoulder pads (or shells) practice.
No real new significant injuries, though a few scary moments as both Jermaine Kearse and James Johnson took hard falls on their backs after being flipped in the air trying to catch passes. But both got right back up and continued to play.
As for some of the injuries mentioned in the earlier post, none seem real serious. Sarkisian said Greg Walker has a banged-up elbow and they just wanted him to avoid contact for a day. Morgan Rosborough landed hard on his shoulder the other day but could be back soon. Craig Noble was not in pads due to knee inflammation, but it also doesn’t sound overly serious.
Johri Fogerson didn’t take part in any team action, but Sarkisian said he should be back in a day or so.
And Ryan Tolar was out for a series or two with some kind of foot deal but Sarkisian also said it wasn’t serious. That, however, allowed Mykenna Ikehara some time with the starting unit.
The most serious injury may be backup OT Terence Thomas. Sarkisian said he is again bothered by a persistent foot injury and he will be examined soon to determine what’s going on.
I’ll have more later in the full practice report.
