The Huskies are back at it today after getting Sunday off, and will hit the field at 3 p.m.
This week marks the end of what is officially called training camp, as the team next week moves into a normal game-week mode.
So that means two more two-a-days — tomorrow and Thursday. Tuesday’s practices start at 8:45 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. Wednesday is again a one-a-day with practice at 3 p.m. Thursday is the final two-a-day of camp but with a little change in the schedule as practices will be at 8:45 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. Friday UW has a practice closed to everyone. Saturday’s practice is at 10:15 a.m. and is again open to the media and public.
Then next week, it’s one practice a day, usually at 4 p.m. But restrictions on public access to practice begin on Aug. 31, next Monday, so it you want to attend a practice, your best bet is this week.
Now for a few links. …
Nick Daschel of Buster Sports rates the Pac-10 coaches and has Steve Sarkisian at No. 10. I see a lot of you have already ripped Daschel for that, but I don’t think is reasoning is entirely, uh, unreasonable. He’s just saying that until Sarkisian has more of a track record as a head coach that it’s hard to know where to rank him. That seems fair enough.
Ted Miller has some good updates from around the league as well as a bunch of links.
Ken Goe also has a lot of good links as does Vince Grippi.
Bud Withers of our staff looks at Arizona in his continuing series of Pac-10 previews.
— Now for a few LSU stories: Here’s a look at the team’s QB position; Les Miles says he doesn’t really care where his team is ranked right now; The NOLA.com LSU blog has a series previewing each position on the team, today hitting on the tight ends.
I’m actually out of town for two days on a family commitment so I won’t be reporting from practice today or tomorrow, but I may check in here from time to time with other items. But other Times staffers will be out at practice so there should be the regular news and notes from the workouts on here.
