Captains named

One of the highlights of the Raise The Woof celebration tonight was the naming of the four captains for this season.
The two offensive captains are QB Jake Locker and OL Ryan Tolar, while the two defensive captains are DE Daniel Te’o-Nesheim and LB Donald Butler.
The captains were selected in a vote of the other players. That’s a change from the Tyrone Willingham era, then the coaches would select captains each week and then the players voted at the end of the year for captains for the season.
Te’o-Nesheim was also a captain last season making him a rare two-time captain.
Locker is just the second QB to be a captain since Cody Pickett in 2003. The only other QB to be a captain since then was Isaiah Stanback as a senior in 2006. The last time a non-senior QB was a team captain was Marques Tuiasosopo in 1999.
