More on recruiting and the LSU game

If you’re home right now, you may be able to see future Huskies Nick Montana and Erik Kohler on TV as FSN is showing the Oaks Christian-Alemany game. It’s on Channel 415 where I live.
Neither of them will be here tomorrow but various sources report that many possible future Huskies will be in attendance for the LSU game. New UW coach Steve Sarkisian wanted to use the atmosphere around the LSU game to showcase the program and has invited several of the team’s top targets to attend.
They include:
— Offensive guard Nick Rowland of Peoria, Ariz., a four-star recruit also being pursued by most seriously by Cal, Oregon and Stanford;
— Running back Jordon James of Corona, Calif., a four-star recruit who also is listed as planning to visit Notre Dame, UCLA and Arizona. ESPN.com’s Greg Biggins updated James’ status this week.
— Cornerback Demetrius Wright, also of Corona High in Corona, Calif., a four-star recruit who also lists offers from USC, Tennessee and Florida, among others;
— RB Deontae Cooper of Perris, Calif., rated No. 23 in the country by Scout.com;
— OT Kody Innes of Scottsdale, Ariz., who also has offers from a number of Pac-10 schools.
— and middle linebacker Victor Burnett of Culver City, Calif., a three-star recruit who also lists offers from Nebraska, Oklahoma and Tennessee, among others.
Biggins, has also reported that WR Tyler Slavin of Corona, Calif. (though not the same school as James and Wright) also hopes to visit for the LSU game.
And he also reported later this week that Josh Shaw, a highly-rated DB from Palmdale, Calif., will also visit this week.
It’s also expected that a number of the local players who have already committed to UW will be in attendance, such as O’Dea’s Ben Riva, the Lakes High trio of Darius Waters, Jamal Kearse and Sione Potoae and Auburn’s Chris Young.
Sarkisian earlier this week dismissed any notion that there is much risk to having the recruits in attendance for a game in which the Huskies aren’t favored to win, saying he thought the atmosphere of a big-time game was a good chance “to bring in some kids and show them what our university and our football program is all about.”
WILLIAMS MEMORIAL UNVEILED — Also tonight, CoachSark’s blog had this look at the new memorial for former Husky Curtis Williams.
