Another new Husky?

Apparently so as both ESPN.com and RealDawg.com are reporting this afternoon that running back Deontae Cooper of Citrus Hill High School in Perris, Calif. has committed to the Huskies. And Scout.com is also now listing him as a verbal.
Here is the ESPN page with his listing as a verbal. And here is an updated story from ESPN also reporting on Cooper’s commitment.
RealDawg.com, meanwhile, quoted the 6-1, 185-pounder as saying that he had called UW coach Steve Sarkisian today to give his commitment.
“This is an exciting time for Washington,” he told RealDawg. “The reason I committed is that I love (cornerbacks coach Demetrice) Martin, the staff, and everything about Washington. I’m fired up man.”
Cooper would be the 17th commit in the class and the second running back, joining Melvin Davis, with Zach Fogerson also in the fold as a fullback.
Here’s a story on Cooper yesterday from Greg Biggins where he said UW was his favorite
Scout reported that he also had offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Stanford and Nebraska, among others.
Cooper rushed for 2,948 yards last year as a junior (here are his stats). He plays against relatively smaller schools but the UW coaches got a good look at him when he attended the Rising Stars camp at Washington this summer.
