USC quarterback situation still murky, more notes

It’s looking more and more likely the Huskies will face Aaron Corp on Saturday as Matt Barkley did not do any real throwing at USC’s practice today.
Here’s a report from The Orange County Register, and one from the USC web site. However, sounds as if Taylor Mays will likely play.
IN OTHER NEWS. …
— USC also announced today that backup cornerback Brian Baucham, the team’s nickel back, will not play Saturday after being involved in an auto accident. Not exactly the healthiest USC team to make the trip here.
— Really nice piece on ESPN.com today breaking down Jake Heaps and Nick Montana and previewing tomorrow’s Oaks Christian-Skyline game.
— The LA Times, meanwhile, picks Oaks Christian to win the game.
— And a reader just sent me this, another preview of the Oaks Christian game from a California paper.
— Speaking of which, we will have massive coverage of that game, including a live blog that I will conduct watching the game on TV. It’s going to be so crowded there that it didn’t sound possible to really live blog from the field. So we are going to have three people at the game who will cover it there and feed me stuff that I will include on the blog watching it on TV. So if you don’t get ESPNU, we’ll keep you as up-to-the-minute as we can on all of it.
— Also, a good story from Chris Dufresne of the LA Times that quotes Steve Sarkisian, among other coaches, talking about how they approach game-changing decisions.
All for now.
