More from South Bend — Huskies refute ticket story

We actually made it to South Bend, walked around the stadium, and headed into the Linebacker Lounge. Hopefully you have seen some of the Twitter feeds of the pictures on this blog and on Danny O’Neil’s blog.
In one of the pictures, you can see a tarp on the field at Notre Dame Stadium. It was kind of a light drizzle the whole time we were walking around the area, pretty typical Seattle-style rain, but it was also pretty wet. It’s a natural grass field at ND, however, and the tarp will obviously keep it as dry as possible.
IN OTHER NEWS. …
UW officials tonight are refuting portions of a story that was published on ESPN.com today saying that Notre Dame’s sellout streak was in jeopardy because UW returned an additional portion of tickets on Friday.
UW spokesman Richard Kilwien said the school returned five tickets this week and 12 in the last two weeks.
He said UW was allocated roughly 4,000 tickets overall and did return some in July and August. But he said the number that the school returned in the last two weeks could hardly be enough to be solely responsible for putting Notre Dame’s sellout streak in jeopardy.
