Lots to talk about after that one, which was simply one of the most amazing games I’ve ever witnessed. Kind of felt like UW’s loss to UConn in the Sweet 16 a few years ago for all of its twists and turns and all the times it seemed like the Huskies were ready to win it.
We covered a lot of different angles in our coverage, much of which is already posted on-line:
— Here’s my main story which focuses on the two second-half drives where the Huskies couldn’t get the ball in the end zone.
Steve Kelley wrote that despite the loss, the Huskies showed how much progress they have made.
Danny O’Neil’s sidebar focused on Notre Dame’s critical two-pointers.
— The notebook led off with Chris Polk’s day and also has items on Desmond Trufant and the UW defense perfecting bend-but-don’t-break.
— And the 2-minute drill hands out a few awards and has a few other stats.
— And in a few stories from other sources, here’s the ESPN story which focuses on Notre Dame’s ability to pull games out in the final minutes this year.
— The Chicago Tribune says Notre Dame’s defense finally rose to the occassion,
— Blue and Gold Illiustrated focused on Notre Dame’s goal line stops.
— The South Bend Tribune has this report from the UW locker room.
All for now.
