Monday press conference update

Lots of ASU post-mortem at the Monday press conference today, and I’ll have more of that later.
For now, a few quick notes:
— One quick ASU post-mortem to pass along is that it was Nate Williams’ responsbility to cover Chris McGaha on that last play. Sarkisian said he had the responsibility for the deep middle, which is where McGaha went.
— Sarkisian said there are no new injuries that would impact anyone’s availability this week. Jake Locker said he is fine, moving his arm around and joking that “everything works.”
Chip Kelley said Jeremiah Masoli practiced this morning and said that he “looked pretty good today.” Sarkisian said he fully expects Masoli to play.
— Sarkisian said he wouldn’t say yet who will start at strong safety or the Long/Richardson CB spot saying that the secondary “is a work in progress.”
— The sideline penalty, he said, was not on defensive coordinator Nick Holt, though the FSN broadcast implied that it was. KJR’s Dave Mahler is reporting it was on Grey Rugemar, a former ASU player who was recently with the Seahawks and has been working with the team as an assistant strength coach. Sarkisian didn’t say the penalty was on Rugemar but said that the officials thought they heard something said at them that was directed at someone else.
All for now.
