Well, sort of.
The first Steve Sarkisian sighting of the weekend on his recruiting trip to Los Angeles came at LA. Jordan High School, as the LA Times reports both Sarkisian and Pete Carroll were on the sidelines watching the game there this afternoon. Safety Sean Parker of Narbonne is one guy each is surely taking a look at. Sark’s also probably trying to make sure Carroll doesn’t get his hands on RB Melvin Davis, a Narbonne High senior who is already committed to UW.
— FootballCoachScoop.com reports that UW safeties Jeff Mills could be a candidate for the head coaching vacancy at Portland State. Mills doesn’t have any ties to PSU as far as having played or coached there or anything.
— UW defensive coordinator Nick Holt said on his weekly show with Dave “Softy” Mahler on KJR-AM that he has not talked to anyone at UNLV and doesn’t know why his name is on lists of prospective candidates there. Reports today indicate that the school may be looking seriously at Dennis Franchione, as well as Dirk Koetter. It’s also thought Tyrone Willingham could be in the mix there.
— Speaking of Willingham, he’s looking for work in a lot of different ways, apparently.
— ESPN.com’s Ted Miller looks at what Pac-10 assistants might be interested in the UNLV or San Jose State openings.
— He also has this on the Pac-10 creating a new executive post.
All for now.
Well, sort of.
