Thursday links

Don’t forget the live chat at noon. Until then, a few links. …
— Sports Illustrated has an interesting Pac-10 fan survey. Obviously, the questions are so general hard to really know what to make of some of the responses. I’m assuming an awful lot of USC and Cal fans, or something, chimed in to make UCLA the most heated rival for everyone.
More interesting were the last three questions about favorite stadiums to visit and rudest and most polite fans. I get questions about fan behavior a lot from people who know I regularly go to all the stadiums. The one thing is that being sequestered up in the press box, I don’t often get a real good sense of what the fans are like. From what I’ve heard, I doubt too many UW fans will argue with the choice of Oregon having the rudest fans. Stanford may have the most polite fans in part because usually none of them are there.
Nick Daschel writes that there is no way the Cougars will be able to win the Apple Cup and that the result will be so one-sided “it’ll embarrass Husky fans.”
— Really interesting story in the LA Times today on how hard Rick Neuheisel can be on quarterbacks. Most interesting for UW fans may be that Cody Pickett declined to be interviewed for the story, apparently saying he was “uncomfortable talking about his former coach.”
— UW coaches are doing some recruiting at the LA City Section playoff games tonight. Here’s a list of the games and a breakdown from the LA Times.
— Lots of Pac-10 links from Ken Goe.
All for now.
