Read the violation report yourself

In the interest of clearing up any lingering questions about the secondary recruiting violation of last January that came to the surface publicly this week, we requested and received a copy of the report UW submitted to the Pac-10.
Here it is.
A couple things to note:
— The UW says there is a typo in the report where it mentions six student-athletes “listed above.” In fact, only three names were listed — two active players at the time and one visiting recruit.
— Also, the timing of the self-report might raise some questions. The UW says that a couple of position departures in the compliance department and the investigation into the incident led to the delay between the time of the incident and the report, which was filed Aug. 31. But a UW spokesman says the incident “was turned into the compliance office immediately and dealt with at that time.”
As you can see, the names of the players involved in the violation have been redacted, so they won’t be made public.
As you can also see, there is mention of the eligibility of a player. It was restored. The Pac-10 does not comment on specific violations, but the penalties apparently were accepted without change.
