Jim Mora fired as Seahawks coach

This isn’t a Seahawks blog, but figured it might be a discussion topic for a lot of you that Jim Mora has been fired today as coach of the Seahawks after just one year.
Mora is a UW grad (lettering from 81-83) and was considered a leading candidate for the Husky head coaching job both in 2004 when the Huskies instead hired Tyrone Willingham, and last year when UW instead hired Steve Sarkisian.
Both times, Mora was otherwise employed and never really could commit to pursuing the UW job full-on.
In 2005, Mora was head coach of the Atlanta Falcons and in the first year of a five-year deal. Last year, he was coach-in-waiting for the Seahawks.
Obviously, lots of hypotheticals you could throw around about how things could have turned out differently for both Mora and the Huskies if the circumstances had been just a little different each time.
Danny O’Neil will continue to update the news on his Seahawks blog.
