LA Daily News says Sark contacted, but said no thanks

The LA Daily News has an item today saying that USC contacted UW coach Steve Sarkisian to “gauge his interest” in returning to the Trojans should Pete Carroll leave.
But the note says that Sarkisian said he was “happy to remain in his current job.”
That should be no surprise to anyone who read our story Saturday in which Sarkisian called UW “his dream job” and had no intentions of leaving anytime soon (by the way, those quotes were said in a separate interview with the Seattle Times. I’ve seen those attributed to the press conference he held that day or to radio interviews, but those quotes were said in a separate interview after those events. Not that that would have changed what was said or anything, but that was the context of it).
By the way, Danny O’Neil of our staff reports that things may be a little murkier with Pete Carroll and the Seahawks than has been portrayed meaning that there’s still a chance there’s not even an opening at USC for everyone to worry about. Jim Trotter of Sports Illustrated has been ‘Tweeting that his gut feel is that Carroll will stay at USC.
