Another new Husky — for 2011?

Well I see this is what happens when you spend a Friday night taking the kids to the Squeakel — real, actual, interesting news.
Dawgman.com reported last night that the Huskies have received their first commitment for the Class of 2011 from athlete Brendon Bigelow of Fresno (Calif.) Central High.
Dawgman reports Bigelow, a junior at Central, was beginning to get looks from schools like Florida, Cal and Stanford but UW was his first offer — he recently had knee surgery to repair an ACL injury suffered late last season.
But he decided to take UW up on its offer and becomes one of the earliest commits in Husky history, though not the earliest. Zach Fogerson of O’Dea committed to UW in the fall of 2008 during his junior season of football (I think he’s been a Husky commit now longer than Keith Gilbertson was a UW head coach).
Bigelow has been primarily a running back and WR for Central but could also end up playing on defense.
Here’s a YouTube clip of some of his highlights. And here are his stats for last season, showing he rushed for 1,000 yards on 87 carries and also had 23 receptions and scored 10.2 points per game.
You can also find him on this list of top track times in the state of California last year having run the No. 10 wind-aided 100 (10.57) and the No. 21 200 (21.63) and the No. 16 400 (48.04).
There’s also this athlete profile of Bigelow from the Fresno Bee when he was named an Athlete of the Week last spring.
