Monday morning notes — O’Neil at the Senior Bowl

My Times colleague, Danny O’Neil, is spending the week at the Senior Bowl, largely to scout out possible Seahawks draftees, with the team having two of the top 14 picks in the April draft.
But I know O’Neil will also keep his eye out for the one UW player in the game, linebacker Donald Butler. So check out Danny’s blog and Twitter feed (each available here) throughout the week (and I’ll also try to link anything specific about Butler.
The Senior Bowl will be played Saturday at 1 p.m. and telecast on the NFL Network. The practices will also be on the NFL Network all week — today from 12:30-2, and Tuesday-Thursday from 9-10 a.m. and noon-1 p.m.
IN OTHER NEWS. …
— ESPN’s Greg Biggins talked with Servite DT Kirifi Taula, who visited UW this weekend. It’s a pay story so I won’t repeat it all here. But Taula said that he cold be called “a soft commitment to Washington” saying he plans to take his visit to Arizona this weekend (he noted that his parents told him to take all of his planned visits after he committed to Arizona in December). He added that “right now, things are pretty confusing for me and I know it’s only going to get crazier over the next few weeks with signing day coming, but I like Washington a lot and that’s where I see myself going to school.” He said he has a home visit with UW coach Steve Sarkisian today, and OSU coach Mike Riley and Arizona coach Mike Stoops on Tuesday. He concluded saying that he’ll take his visit to Arizona and then “sit down with my family and make a final, final decision early next week.”
— The Oregonian has the latest on a possible theft involving Oregon players this weekend and also has these notes and links from around the conference.
All for now.
