Hartvigson with one catch as Team USA wins

Michael Hartvigson of Bothell High, who is set to sign with UW on Wednesday, made one catch for seven yards playing tight end as Team USA beat Team World 17-0 in an all-star game today in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Bothell HIgh teammate Colin Porter, who is also set to sign with UW, also played in the game on the offensive line.
Here are the final expanded stats for the game.
IN OTHER NEWS. …
— UW DT Cameron Elisara finished 13th in the shot put at the UW Invitational indoor track meet today with a throw of 49 feet, seven inches.
— This blog post from the LA Times notes that LB Josh Shirley isn’t expected to announce his college decision until at least noon, when he’s set to do it on live TV in the southern California area. UW has slated its signing day press conference for noon — coaches can’t talk about players until they sign. Hard to know if it means anything that UW’s press conference apparently will run at the same time, meaning UW coach Steve Sarkisian would be talking to the media before Shirley is apparently set to make his call. Shirley is thought to have narrowed his list to UW, USC, Arizona and Miami. Scout.com reports he is taking his visit to Miami this weekend.
Ken Goe of The Oregonian leads off his daily Pac-10 links by applauding the moves in Washington D.C. to look further into the BCS. (My take? If college football needs politicians to fix it then it’s really in trouble. Getting all of them involved just sounds like a way to make things worse).
All for now.
