Woodward talks to Percy, and a little bit more

In my second week here in Vancouver, and to those who have sent notices about the lack of info on here, don’t worry — the Olympics is a once-in-a-lifetime deal and soon enough, we’ll be back to regular duty on this blog.
In the meantime, want to make sure you saw some comments from UW athletic director Scott Woodward near the bottom of Percy Allen’s UW hoops blog on the UCLA game.
Specifically, Woodward said that:
Steve Sarkisian is weighing the idea of an alternate black jersey for football similar to what the basketball team debuted this year;
— ESPN’s GameDay producers enjoyed Seattle enough they were scouting for possible football shows down the road (though they actually did this a year or two, as well, sending a couple of guys to the area to scout out possible locations in case they were going to come here, which they never did).
— The Pac-10 and Big Ten have reached out to both Texas and Texas A&M as possible expansion targets (which makes sense as the thought has always been A&M would have to go wherever Texas goes).
— An expansion could go beyond two teams and could ultimately be a merging of several conferences to the point where there are only four super conferences.
All interesting stuff.
Also, a reader passed along this link from Bleacher Report comparing Sarkisian and Lane Kiffin.
And I see you guys have mostly linked all the relevant USC and Oregon stories frrom the last few days.
ESPN.com’s Ted Miller has a good wrapup of the USC situation here.
