Friday links, notes — Nussmeier to Idaho Hall of Fame

We’ll start with the news that UW offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier has been named to the Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame (which honors athletes from the state, or who represented the state, and not necessarily just the University of Idaho).
Nussmeier was a standout QB at the University of Idaho in the early 1990s, throwing for 10,824 yards in his career.
He will be inducted into the Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame on April 10 , 2010 in Coeur d’Alene.
The other inductees in this year’s hall of fame class are North Idaho native Carissa Yassen who was an all american track star at Purdue, and is now deceased; Kristen Armstrong a olympic gold medal cyclist; Ali Neimann an Idaho native and all Big West basketball player at the U of I; and Dave Triplett who was a football player for the Vandals in the 1960’s. The inductees are pick by a committee that actively researches deserving Idaho athletes and invites anyone who thinks they might have a deserving athlete in mind to submit a bio to the committee. You can find their web site here.
Some other HOF members include Hec Edmunson (he was coach at Idaho before coming to UW), Dennis Erickson, John Friesz, Jerry Kramer, Dan O’Brien, Dee Pickett (father of Cody), and Mark Sclereth.
In other news. …
Steve Sarkisian was a guest at a speech by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer yesterday.
Ken Goe has the story of Disney giving up the Oregon Duck, and more Pac-10 links.
UPDATE — Should have linked this yesterday, but OSU QB Lyle Moevao was denied his appeal for a sixth year, and this story should help you understand as well why E.J. Savannah was denied.
All for now.
