Live chat at noon, plus a few links

We’re two days into spring practice, so time for another live chat — let’s try one at noon.
Also, a few links:
— GoHuskies.com has a look at the tailback competition this spring with some interesting comments from RB coach Joel Thomas.
Tyrone Wheatley, who had a pretty good game against UW in the 1993 Rose Bowl, is now helping Syracuse’s running backs.
— You probably more than you want to about Jake Heaps. Here’s a story on the other guy emerging as BYU’s possible starter against UW Sept. 4, Riley Nelson.
LaMichael James participated in Oregon’s practice Thursday.
— USC may purposely not try a field goal all spring — and QB Matt Barkley was ordered to lose weight by new coach Lane Kiffin.
— UCLA may go with the “Pistol” formation more this year to take better advantage of Kevin Prince’s running ability.
— OSU DT Stephen Paeabu, probably the best returning defensive player in the conference, hopes to use his final year to improve his draft status.
— Arizona State is hoping faster-paced practices may help improve from a 4-8 season a year ago.
See you at noon.
