Update on Huskies in AFL, and more Monday links

Easy to have missed it, but the Arena Football League started back up this weekend, and in a quick perusal of rosters, I found three former Huskies:
Johnie Kirton with the Arizona Rattlers;
Caesar Rayford with the Utah Blaze;
— and Chris Hemphill with the Orlando Predators.
Kirton had five carries for 15 yards and a touchdown as the Rattlers, coached by former Dallas Cowboys QB Danny White, beat Cleveland 61-56.
There had been talk of a few Huskies playing for the Spokane Shock, but a look at the roster doesn’t reveal any.
IN OTHER NEWS. …
Ken Goe of The Oregonian writes that with the troubles at Oregon and Oregon State “this could be Washington’s year” and also has a few other Pac-10 links.
Phil Steele writes that UW has the fourth-best group of freshmen OL in the nation arriving this fall.
Tony Barnhart has some interesting rumors on college football expansion from the Final Four.
Good story on Bill Moos from The Spokesman-Review over the weekend which includes some stuff on how his dalliance with the Washington job in 2004 helped lead to his eventual departure from Oregon.
— Cougs also lost DT Toby Turpin when he was expelled from school.
All for now.
