Husky Football Blog

The latest news and analysis on the Montlake Dawgs.

Tuesday morning links

First off, a reminder that UW returns to practice today at 4 p.m. at Husky Stadium. It will be the first full-pads practice of the spring, practice number four of 15 overall.
Now, a few links. …
— In the latest of a series on Pac-10 players leaving bigger holes to fill than you’d think, Ted Miller spotlights Washington and Paul Homer and the fullback position.
— CollegeFootballTalk.com praises Steve Sarkisian for a Tweet last night praising the college basketball playoffs. May be something to ask the coach about today. Also, word is Sarkisian spent part of last night traveling through Greek row trying to rally support from students.
— An ESPNBoston.com mailbag addresses whether the Patriots would draft Jake Locker in 2011 to replace Tom Brady.
Ken Goe has his usual Pac-10 links as well as a note that Oregon’s president and outgoing AD Mike Bellotti are expected to meet the media today to address questions resulting from Bellotti’s sudden departure — sounds like fun.
— After the note here yesterday on Huskies playing in the Arena Football League, a reader forwarded the information that former Husky Wilson Afoa is playing in a league closer to home, for the Yakima entry in the American Indoor Football Association. Afoa had five tackles and two sacks in a win over Wenatchee Valley this weekend. Did a little more searching through that league’s web site and found that Anthony Atkins, who signed with UW but never played in any games, is playing for Wenatchee. And you’ve got to love a league that has a team in Wasilla, Alaska.
— Uh oh — a possible BYU quarterback mention in the following link. But worth noting that UW’s first opponent of next season is in its final week of spring practice. Here’s a report from Monday’s practice.
— Syracuse had lots of drops in its practice Monday.
I’ll have at least one more set of answers posted before practice, and then the usual stuff from practice.
