Another new Husky?

Getting the practice report up here shortly, but the big news of the day came away from the field as Stanwood High offensive lineman Dexter Charles committed to the Huskies after taking an unofficial visit this weekend.
Dawgman.com reported the commitiment of Charles, a 6-5, 270-pounder who projects as a guard or tackle. Charles was also at a UW practice a week or so ago (musician Duff McKagan is an uncle of Charles). He also reportedly had offers from Arizona and Washington State.
He becomes the eighth commit for UW’s Class of 2011, and the second currently playing in the state of Washington, the other being DLN Taniela Tupou of Archbiship Murphy High.
QB Brett Hundley of Chandler, Ariz., was also at UW’s practice. Here’s his profile showing offers from about half the Pac-10. Hundley’s coach, Jim Ewan, was among the speakers at the coaches clinic this weekend, which featured about 270 coaches from around the Northwest.
I’ll have more on practice later but there was no significant personnel news. The only injury of note was a hyperextended elbow to safety Greg Walker, seen later with his arm in a sling. But coach Steve Sarkisian said it’s not serious.
