Reports say Huskies add another one

Multiple reports out tonight that the Huskies have added a commitment from outside linebacker Matthew Lyons of Dorsey, Calif., for the Class of 2011.
RealDawg.com and Dawgman.com are each reporting the commitment tonight. Lyons was a visitor at UW’s practice today.
Here’s some video of Lyons, who would be the ninth commit for UW’s Class of 2011.

Lyons had 135 tackles and three sacks last season as a junior at Dorsey, a school that has produced all kinds of athletes through the years — the most notable of former Huskies might be running back Beno Bryant.. (Though the most notable overall may be Mike Love of Beach Boys fame).
Lyons was recently named as a defensive standout at the 2010 Badger Sport Elite 7-on-7 Passing Tournament in Las Vegas.
His Scout.com profile lists him as not yet having any other offers, UW apparently having again gotten out front in making an offer and getting a commitment.
Here’s the list of commitments to date for each Pac-10 school, according to Scout.com:
Stanford, 11
Washington, 9
WSU, 3
Oregon, Cal, USC and Arizona, 2 each
ASU, OSU and UCLA, zero.
It’s obviously still so early that having few or no commits doesn’t mean anything, But UW having nine already does indicate the aggressiveness with which this coaching staff is approaching recruiting.
