Purple wins spring game 14-13

Nick Montana threw a 2-yard TD on the last play to Luther Leonard and Eric Guttorp then kicked the extra point, to lead the Purple team to a 14-13 win over the White in UW’s annual spring game Friday night.
Montana led a gutty 80-yard drive in the final two minutes, completing an 11-yard pass to walk-on William Chandler on a fourth-and-seven from his own 23 to keep the drive alive.
Montana finished 21-34 for 156 yards, two TDs and one interception. Demitrius Bronson was the leading rusher with 72 yards on 11 carries.
Jake Locker was 3-7 for 15 yards in limited action, playing only in the first half.
Anthony Boyles was the defensive star with a fumble recovery, an interception of a Montana pass returned for a TD and a hard hit on Chandler.
Coach Steve Sarkisian said later there were no significant injuries.
Quinton Richardson, a starter at cornerback the end of the spring, did not start after missing a meeting.
Official attendance was estimated at 15,000.
