Pulu sentenced to jail, work release

Andru Pulu was sentenced today after pleading guilty to felony second-degree assault for breaking a man’s nose at an off-campus party in March.
Jennifer Sullivan of our staff has all the details here.
Pulu was indefinitely suspended from the team by UW coach Steve Sarkisian in March. A UW spokesman said Friday that there is no official change to Pulu’s status with the team. However, given the severity of the sentence, it seems unlikely he’ll be back.
A graduate of Federal Way, he had been expected to compete for a starting position at defensive end this season.
